Physiotherapy and another term for physical therapy, which is used all over the world. Physical therapists select, prescribe, and implement therapy techniques when the examination findings, diagnosis, and prognosis indicate use of these techniques to decrease edema, pain, spasm, or swelling; enhance health, wellness, and fitness; enhance or maintain physical performance; increase the ability to move; or prevent or remediate impairment in body functions and structures, activity limitations, or participation restrictions to improve physical function.

Manual Therapy is a set of techniques which are performed by the skilled hand movements with or without the use of tools and are intended to improve tissue extensibility; increase range of motion; induce relaxation; mobilize or manipulate soft tissue and joints; modulate pain; and reduce soft tissue swelling, inflammation, or restriction. Techniques may include manual traction, massage, joint mobilization/manipulation, and passive range of motion, myofascial release, and muscle energy techniques.

While results are largely dependent of individual factors, at Physio Heights, we pride ourselves on delivering fast and effective treatments to reduce pain. However, we are usually able to reduce pain by at least 70% in 8 visits over 4 weeks.

At Physio Heights, we are proud to provide individualized attention throughout the entire plan of care. Since we do not contract with insurance companies, we are not limited in type or length of treatment which the client requires. Our therapists are always accessible, and continuously communicate with clients to make sure that they are getting the results they need.

In your first visit, you will receive a comprehensive evaluation, targeted treatment, a unique plan of care, and self-treatment techniques you can follow at home right away!

Any comfortable and non-restrictive clothing is fine.  Sometimes, the therapist has to get access to the involved or painful area to perform an assessment or parts of treatment, in which cases they will give you specific instructions.
